Hi, I’m Jan Nechvátal, specialising in level design.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Game Design and a Master’s degree in Games Enterprise from the University of South Wales. Throughout my studies, I worked on a range of games and prototypes, where I developed a strong passion for level and world design.

My focus is on creating believable environments that support gameplay, exploration, and environmental storytelling. I’m particularly interested in player flow, encounter design, and spatial composition. I draw inspiration from photography, architecture, film, and games, using research, testing, and iteration to create polished and engaging player experiences.

Alongside collaborative university and indie projects, I released an independent game developed through close teamwork and cross discipline collaboration. These experiences strengthened my ability to iterate on layouts and encounters, and deliver polished, playable environments both independently and within a team.

I’m currently seeking opportunities in level design, where I can contribute to creating engaging and memorable game spaces as part of a passionate development team.

If you'd like to work together, feel free to get in touch.
